Matthew L. Ransdell, Senior Associate

Mr. Ransdell practices in the Firm's Labor and Employment Law Group and focuses his practice on representing private and governmental clients with respect to human resources and employment law matters. His experience includes the representation of management in employment litigation, including Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act, as well as whistleblower and retaliation claims. Mr. Ransdell works with clients on employee handbooks and policies and drafts employment agreements for employers to meet the needs of the workplace. Mr. Ransdell also has experience litigating claims to enforce restrictive covenants in employment contracts. Drawing upon his litigation experience, Mr. Ransdell regularly counsels clients regarding day-to-day human resources issues, including disciplinary and termination decisions and wage and hour compliance.

Awards and Recognition

Mr. Ransdell has earned recognition from his peers as a top rated labor and employment lawyer in the Super Lawyers publication. He was recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Mr. Ransdell is also a member of the National Order of Barristers.

Education and Background

Mr. Ransdell earned his law degree, summa cum laude, from the Stetson University College of Law and his undergraduate degree in Political Science, magna cum laude, from the Western Kentucky University.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Ransdell worked for a national labor and employment law firm and national full service law firms where he managed numerous labor and employment cases from inception to conclusion.
