About Us
The
firm was founded in 1989 to provide high quality personalized service to
our clients. The firm’s practice areas include labor and employment law
(specifically representing employers), local government law, business and
corporate law, commercial and civil litigation, appellate law, health care
law, election law, constitutional law, civil rights law and education law.
Our Areas of Practice
We represent employers in a wide range of
employment law matters. We provide advice on preventative employment law
practices, conduct training sessions for management and employees, and
defend a diverse range of employment litigation claims including sexual
harassment, discrimination on the basis of race, sex, age, disability,
gender, religion and other protected characteristics, as well as those
relating to the minimum wage and overtime law. We draft personnel policies
and employment contracts, as well as provide training in best practices
for our clientele.
Our firm represents a number of government
agencies in a full spectrum of matters confronting local governments. We
are familiar with the Public Records Law, the Sunshine Law, and the
budgeting and taxation (TRIM) process. The firm has experience in
community redevelopment, in negotiating and drafting contracts, as well as
in drafting Ordinances, Resolutions and Legislation. We have successfully
defended claims against police departments alleging unlawful use of force,
false arrest, and civil rights violations. We represent our clients in
Federal and State Court litigation, including defending tort claims,
breach of contract claims, and election law matters. We draft procurement
policies and defend bid protests. We represent governments either as
general counsel, City Attorney, or Special Counsel engaged to represent
the government agency in a particular matter or area of law.
The firm represents a number of corporations
and businesses in all areas of operation. We routinely inform and advise
corporations on matters of regulatory and statutory compliance. We
negotiate and draft contracts, transactions, articles of incorporation,
bylaws, shareholder’s agreements, and contracts to purchase and sell. We
review and revise personnel policies, corporate procedures and provide
advice on a wide variety of matters. We represent our clients in Federal
and State Court litigation, arbitration and mediation regarding
commercial, tort, negligence, employment law and other matters.
We are active in the community and contribute
our time and energy to several nonprofit and civic organizations.
