Ms. Hunecke has been representing municipalities exclusively for over thirteen years. Since joining the Firm in 2006, her case load and experience has included representing local municipalities in a wide range of administrative matters and advising local governments on a variety of issues relating to procurement, contracts, constitutional issues, election law compliance, business tax receipts, lien enforcement, code enforcement issues, police forfeitures, and other municipal concerns. She has also drafted a wide variety of ordinances, resolutions, easements, contracts, license/use agreements, and procurement documents on behalf of numerous municipalities.
Ms. Hunecke's selected accomplishments include:
- revamping a municipality's entire code enforcement process and drafting cutting edge ordinances providing code and police officers with the necessary tools to improve the health, safety, and welfare of the municipality and its residents;
- providing advice and counsel regarding a multi-million dollar FEMA project;
- prosecuting numerous code enforcement and municipal ordinance cases;
- negotiating and drafting complex contracts on behalf of municipalities;
- drafting an election law manual for non-profit clients.
Education and Background
Ms. Hunecke earned both her undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Florida.
Following law school and after serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Ms. Hunecke was an Assistant City Attorney at the City of West Palm Beach for almost five years. During her tenure at the City, she managed its involvement in roughly 100 foreclosure actions as both the plaintiff and defendant; drafted contracts relating to construction and design/build projects, contracts for professional services, work authorizations, and amendments and change orders; advised and represented the City’s building officials regarding the enforcement of the Florida Building Code and Unsafe Building Code; prosecuted the City's code enforcement violations and any related appeals; and enforced the collection of property liens City-wide.
